Mimoda Studio is a new, multi-purpose events facility in the heart of Los Angeles adjacent to the burgeoning Paper or Plastik Cafe. Housed in a building that dates back to the 1950s, Mimoda Studio was formerly home to the renowned Dancers Studio, while the streetfront cafe was home to a printing press. Renovated in recent years to highlight the building's intrinsic character, the space features exposed high-beam wooden ceilings, stunning woodwork, and gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows that are unrivaled in Mid-City.
Mimoda Studio is an ideal location for rehearsals, performances, media shoots, and a variety of events. We specialize in dance performances and function as an alternative theater space. Our space also lends itself excellently to bar mitzvahs, dane parties, fundraisers, corporate parties, birthday parties, and film screenings. The space is also a creative alternative for accommodating conferences, private meetings, and seminars.
The building’s unique layout provides for a number of possible
arrangements for staging your event. Our studio can hold up to
150 people seated, and up to 250 people for a standing
reception. Additionally, we offer an enclosed outdoor patio
space that is accessible through the studio and can accommodate up to 50 people. The street-facing café at the front of the building, with its industrial windows and romantic mezzanine, can serve as a magical reception space on its own or in addition to the studio space. The café space can accommodate up to 40 people seated, and up to 75 for a standing reception.
